Atlanta turned into a celebration of Black excellence, entertainment, entrepreneurship and cultural influence as SHEEN Magazine marked its 20th anniversary with an unforgettable awards celebration at Buckhead Theatre. The milestone event brought together an impressive mix of entertainers, executives, entrepreneurs, comedians, media personalities and cultural tastemakers for an evening dedicated to achievement and legacy. From the red carpet to the stage, the atmosphere reflected two decades of SHEEN Magazine creating space for influential voices and celebrating individuals making an impact across entertainment and business. The evening was hosted by Yung Joc, Luenell and Lavell Crawford, whose personalities kept the crowd engaged throughout the celebration. More than an awards ceremony, the evening served as a reflection of how far SHEEN Magazine has come and the community it has cultivated along the way.

Among the evening's most notable honorees was radio and television pioneer Cathy Hughes, who received the Icon in Radio & Television honor. Debra “Deb” Antney was recognized as Hip-Hop Manager of the Decade, celebrating her influential career behind some of the culture's most recognizable artists and entertainment brands. Michael E. Williams was honored as an Icon in Comedy, while Dyon “Mojo” Brooks received Comedian of the Year honors. The awards also recognized Darren Fleet as Rising Star of the Year in Comedy, highlighting the next generation of comedic talent. Together, the honors reflected SHEEN's commitment to recognizing both established legends and emerging voices.

The night also placed a spotlight on the business and entertainment professionals shaping the industry behind the scenes. Millionaire Kev, known as The Tax Plug, was named Entrepreneur of the Year, while Ray Daniels received Entertainment Executive of the Year in Music. Trey Haley was recognized as a Visionary in Cinema & Television Production, acknowledging his contributions to film and television. Drea Nicole and Lex P were celebrated as Podcasters of the Year, further underscoring the growing influence of digital media and independent storytelling. Shaun Milli rounded out the honorees as Breakout Artist of the Year, representing a new chapter of talent receiving its moment in the spotlight.

The presentation of the awards brought together a notable collection of industry figures and personalities. Music executive Louis Essex, comedians Antione Scott and Kelly Kellz, and entertainment executive James DuBose were among those who took the stage to present honors. Wooh da Kid represented the Antney family during the celebration, while Tyquam Alexander also participated as presenters. Bradon Barnes was among the additional industry personalities helping recognize the evening's honorees. Comedians Kelly K Dubb, Shawty, and CoCo Brown’s presence added another layer to an evening built around acknowledging the people whose work continues to influence entertainment, entrepreneurship and popular culture.

The entertainment lineup kept the anniversary celebration moving with performances that brought the crowd to its feet. Q. Parker and Jai Vaughn delivered performances alongside Christian hip-hop artist Jor'Dan, while Shaun Milli brought his own artistry to the stage during a night that celebrated his recognition as Breakout Artist of the Year. Canton Jones also took the stage, bringing a gospel influence and a catalog shaped by years of accomplishments across the Christian music industry. The combination of comedy, music and recognition gave the celebration the feel of a full-scale Atlanta entertainment experience rather than a traditional awards presentation.

Beyond the stage, the guest list reflected the broad reach of SHEEN Magazine's two-decade presence in entertainment and culture. Damion Hall, Deneise Howard, Jaylan Banks, Falynn Pina, Lamont and Marie Sanders, Leslie Segar, Shaquita Smith, NuFace, Skin Bone, Daysha Taylor and Deija James were among the personalities in attendance. Their presence added another layer of star power to an evening already filled with artists, executives and cultural figures. Throughout the celebration, conversations, photographs and social media moments captured the energy of Atlanta's entertainment community coming together under one roof. The event also generated additional buzz across social media, with SHEEN Magazine sharing behind-the-scenes and red-carpet moments through its Instagram platform.

Ultimately, SHEEN Magazine's 20th Anniversary Awards were about more than trophies and red-carpet photographs; they were a celebration of endurance, evolution and influence. Twenty years in media is a milestone that speaks to the importance of continuing to create platforms where Black voices, businesses, artists and innovators can be seen and celebrated. From Cathy Hughes and Debra Antney to emerging talents like Shaun Milli, the evening connected generations of influence while recognizing accomplishments across multiple industries. With laughter from Luenell and Lavell Crawford, energy from Yung Joc, memorable performances and a room filled with familiar faces, the anniversary celebration embodied the spirit of Atlanta's entertainment culture. SHEEN Magazine's 20th year closed with a powerful reminder that when excellence is given a platform, the celebration can become part of the legacy itself.
