Big Heff Continues to Make His Mark With “20 Years of Cleveland Hip Hop & Music”

Quincy “Big Heff” Taylor has spent more than two decades helping move Midwest music forward, and his latest achievement puts the history, people and culture of Cleveland hip hop center stage.

On August 15, 2026, One Cleveland Presents: 20 Years of Cleveland Hip Hop & Music, curated by Quincy “Big Heff” Taylor, opened at the Cleveland Public Library Downtown Campus.

The exhibition celebrates two decades of Cleveland hip hop and music while recognizing the artists, DJs, media outlets, promoters, venues, entrepreneurs and community leaders who helped build the culture.

For Big Heff, this moment is especially fitting. He hasn’t just watched Cleveland’s music scene evolve over the years. He’s been part of the work that helped push it forward.

The exhibit features six sections highlighting The Mixtape Era, Pioneers in Music, Ladies of Hip Hop, Events That Impacted the Culture, The New Generation and Sounds of the Culture. The opening celebration also included panel discussions surrounding artist empowerment, youth engagement, legal and financial literacy and the history of Cleveland hip hop.

Special guests included Wish Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, Caine, Pesh of LiveMixtapes, DJ Ryan Wolf, DJ G Spot, Chevy Blue, Coco Z, EST 19XX, Severe Tha Boss, YourInfoDaily, Crisis of Z1079, the Ohio Hip Hop Awards and more.

The ribbon cutting marked more than the opening of an exhibit. It represented years of Cleveland music history being officially recognized, documented and given a space where both longtime supporters and a new generation can experience the culture.

And for the man trusted to curate that history, the moment carried an even deeper meaning.

More Than 20 Years of Putting in the Work

Big Heff’s latest achievement comes after a career built on consistency.

Beginning in music promotions in the early 2000s, he worked his way from promoting records and developing campaigns to holding influential positions throughout the music industry. His journey has included work with Proof of D12, E1 Music, Def Jam Recordings, 300 Entertainment and Epic Records, while also building his own businesses and platforms.

Over the years, Big Heff has helped support and develop campaigns involving major artists while remaining committed to creating opportunities for emerging talent. His work has crossed touring, radio, marketing, artist development, publishing, management and independent music.

Through platforms such as the Ohio Hip Hop Awards & Music Conference, Big Heff Industry Tour and Capital Structure Entertainment, he has consistently worked to connect Midwest artists with resources and opportunities beyond their local markets.

His industry reach has included work with and support for artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Tee Grizzley, YK Osiris and SleazyWorld Go, along with continued support of Ohio talent including Ray Jr, Preme Dibiasi and many others.

But Big Heff’s impact hasn’t stopped with music.

His community work has included youth programs, Stop The Violence initiatives, career development and music business education. He has also shared his industry knowledge through books and educational programming, giving upcoming creatives information that can help them navigate an industry he has spent decades learning firsthand.

That combination of business, culture and community has become an important part of the Big Heff legacy.

This achievement also creates a special full-circle moment for BigBreakMagazine.

Big Heff graced the front cover of BigBreakMagazine Issue #7, where we had the opportunity to highlight his journey, accomplishments and years of dedication to the music business.

And the beautiful thing about celebrating someone like Big Heff is that the story didn’t end with the cover.

He kept working.

Now, as BigBreakMagazine prepares to reach Issue #10 this October, we wanted to revisit one of our previous cover stories and give Big Heff his flowers for another major accomplishment.

Seeing where he was when we celebrated him on Issue #7 and seeing what he continues to accomplish today is exactly why documenting these journeys matters.

Big Heff’s story is bigger than a list of industry titles.
